​Junior to Mid Level Test Engineer

About the job:
Kaleidocode is an exciting software development consultancy that is looking for a Junior to Mid-Level Software Tester. Help our growing teams deliver high quality, meaningful software using modern testing approaches and tools. Work along side smart, experienced mentors who believe strongly in your technical growth. 

Key technical skills we are looking for:
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years commercial software testing / quality assurance experience
  • Experience testing web and mobile applications
  • Black Box / Functional software testing
    • Creating of test plans
    • Creating test cases (positive & negative)
    • Identifying, logging and re-testing defects until completion
    • Carrying out regression and exploratory testing
    • Creating test reports
  • Technical Testing
    • Testing API endpoints using Postman or similar
    • SQL querying, use of DBeaver/ MS SQL
    • Basic JavaScript Skills
    • Use of a source code management tool such as Git
    • Exposure to UI test automation using Cypress, Selenium, Cucumber
    • Exposure to load and performance testing would be beneficial
  • ISTQB Certification beneficial
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies an added advantage

The ideal candidates would have:
  • Very good communication skills
  • Quality driven with a very good eye for detail
  • A passion for learning and applying knowledge, desiring to grow their software testing skills in both functional and technical testing
  • Ability to consistently deliver to a high standard
  • Interested in working in a consulting environment with a variety of clients 
  • Team player who will work well alongside smart, focused colleagues who design, code and deploy meaningful software with modern tools and processes
  • Relevant tertiary qualification preferred

Location
At present this position is only open to South African citizens.

Hybrid/remote working is available. Kaleidocode is based in Durban, KZN, South Africa; and you may be required to work in the Durban office or at client sites.​

Salary
Salary offered will be commensurate with level of skill and experience.
